Overview

Silent Book

This project was as challenging as it was rewarding. Seeing the book all together and hearing other peoples interpretations of the narrative was interesting.

My main inspration for this was macbeth and the symbolism of the blood on the hands.

It was quite an undertaking to complete the book in the time span, but i was happy with the outcome and the level of detail I managed to achieve. While challenging for me, keeping the consistent color palette throughout helped set with the mood.

Mythological art

This piece was of the primordial god of chaos. she is said to be the first ever being. Born of the void. I tried incorporating this into her design, her hair wrapping around her blending into the background.

This next piece was of Loki, the god of mischief. I kept his design sharp and angular. This combines to make him look untrustworthy and scheming.

These two pieces are based on Medusa, I wanted to have the two dualities. showing her different portrayls.

One is angry and aggressive, looking ready to attack, inspired by the discord around her and how in most media she is said to be a monster.

The other, the one to the left, is a toned down, sadder version of Medusa, more in line with her original story. It was really interesting to do this piece. I had first done the more monstruous depiction of her, then to be able to go back after researching her story more and being bale to show that more sympathetic version of her.

This was an illustration based on Themis, the personification of divine order. I portrayed her as a stone statue, surrounded by overgrown vegetation and a temple which is falling apart. This was because almost all of Themis' temples are in rumble today, and I wanted to show that through my art.

For this I first thought to incorporate the dress that Juliet wore in the 1996 movie. Then I made Romeo be the one to stab them both with a knife as he was the first to kill himself, subsequently killing Juliet too.

For this Macbeth poster I took heavy inspiration from Yuni Yoshida poster for the Korean stage musical, but added many of my own ideas. My favorite being Lady Macbeths hand, dripping with blood forming the crown.
